Third period letdowns

It doesn’t seem fair to Nashville fans, the Red Wings have all that skill, do they really need the luck as well. Detroit took a 2 games to 0 lead in their Eastern Division quarterfinal with a fluke goal in the third period. With only 2:45 seconds separating Nashville from Overtime with the wings, Mathieu Schneider bounced a shot off of Tomas Vokoun which bounced off the boards and hit the goaltender again trickling into the net, giving the Wings a 2-1 victory at the Joe.

The Predators once again gave up the lead in the third period, getting so close to having a shot at their first ever Playoff win, only to see it get snatched away at the last minute.

Vokoun and Detroit goaltender Manny Legace both faced 28 shots in the game, but with the lucky bounce Vokoun once again ends up with the L beside his name in the official stats.

Both teams were quick to shower and head out after the game. They face a quick turnaround on the playoff schedule, with Game Number Three going Sunday in Nashville. If the Predators will need some offense from their two top offensive threats, Steve Sullivan and Scott Walker have yet to get a point in this playoff round. The Preds need them to get some more chances, if they want to have any hope to extend their playoff appearance beyond game number four
