Canucks back on track!

The bandwagon of Doom is off the road for now, those Canuck fans that were apoplectic over the state of their team have taken their seats, calmer and less inclined to float those bizarre trade rumors that were the currency of talk radio the last week or so.

Jovo, Bertuzzi, Cloutier, the Sedins they can all unpack the suitcases, take their homes off the market. With a convincing 5-2 win at home over the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday night all is well in Canuck land again. Gaining a measure of revenge over the Avs for an embarrassing loss over the weekend, the Canucks sent another sold out crowd home happy as they won their 11th home game of the year.

The Nuck’s came out of the gate fast and despite falling behind the Av’s 1-0, off the stick of perennial Canuck killer Joe Sakic, they quickly battled back and took control of the game.

Bertuzzi was crashing the net again, playing with a bit of attitude in this one, a contrast to many of the games this year where he has seemed lost on the ice, unsure of his place and what his task should be. Bertuzzi had six shots on goal in this one, a definite improvement in his output and his interest. Bertuzzi claimed his 400th point with an assist on a Markus Naslund goal

The Sedins skated, skated and skated, getting opportunities to score at will, taking advantage of the ones that presented themselves.

Auld rebounded off that early Sakic goal, offering a stellar last line of defence during those few moments when the Defensive crew had a miscue.

The Canuck goal scorers on the night were; Winnipeg call up Josh Green, Brendan Morrison, Henrik Sedin, Markus Naslund and Jarkko Ruutu, Each line made a contribution, every shift seemed solid.

As head coach Marc Crawford put it after the game, this one had no passengers on the bench.

The test now for Vancouver is to keep the momentum going and take their work ethic into Edmonton tonight for a match up with the Oilers. When this team is playing with confidence they look unstoppable, they looked pretty confident Wednesday night.
