If the Vancouver Canucks are looking for some goal production, perhaps they should be making some more phone calls to their Manitoba Moose farm club, where it seems everyone can score, even if they're not actually part of the play.
Manitoba Moose goaltender Drew MacIntyre was credited with the 2-1 overtime winner on Wednesday night, as the Chicago Wolves committed the worst possible sin for a hockey team, they scored on their own net in Overtime.
A misguigded pass from behind the Moose net during a delayed penalty call, eluded the point man and drifted down the ice and into the Chicago net, sealing the fate for the Wolves for the night and putting MacIntyre onto the scoring sheet summaries in a most unusal fashion. He stopped 29 shots, in addition to his goal the first of his career, which surely must make him the team's top two way player for the night.
In addition to securing a win for the Moose, the goal also stopped Chicago's seven game winning streak in its tracks and will no doubt have Steve Martins' buying the beer for the rest of the season.
