Not quite ready to hibernate

There’s still some hockey to be played in Boston this season after all, with Montreal in command heading into Thursday night’s game five, many felt that Boston’s late season spurt would come to an end at the Bell Centre.

However, the Bruins had different plans and stayed alive for one more night on Thursday, as they took advantage of a few Montreal miscues, including one glaring one from rookie goaltender Carey Price.

The Bruins forced the Canadiens and their fans to put their celebration on ice for a return trip to Boston this weekend after they exploded for a four goal third period on the way to a convincing 5-1 victory.

Spurred on by a rousing pre game speech by head coach Claude Julien, the Bruins delivered a stunning display of offence scoring as many goals on Thursday night as they had in the previous three games combined.

It was also lesson learning time for the rookie Habs goaltender, who misplayed the puck and watched in horror as the Bruins collected a goal over the Canadiens break down in their own end.
It’s not something that seems to be worrying Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau however, who figures that Price will be just fine from his rough outing and ready to go for game six on Saturday.

Montreal leads the best of seven series three games to two now and could wrap things up with a victory in Boston.
