Game Five-- New Jersey at Florida -- April 21, 2012

Martin Brodeur is back in his groove and that probably doesn't bode well for the Florida Panthers.

Back in the nets on Thursday after being pulled in game three, Brodeur provided a statement game, one that suggests there's still a few saves left in those old bones just yet.

The 39 year old Devils goaltender collected his 24th career shutout on Thursday, a 4-0 victory that brought the Devils into a tie with the Panthers, turning their best of seven into a best of three, perhaps knocking down the dreams a bit of the Panthers who might have been thinking back at game three that they had the Devils on the run.

Instead, its the Panthers who may find that their time in the playoffs may be nearing its end, with inconsistent goal tending in the last couple of games and the return of Brodeur's more traditional role of stone wall in the Devils end, the Panthers clearly will have their work cut out for them if they wish to claim the series.
