Game Seven-- Washington at Boston -- April 25, 2012

It's deja vu time for the Boston Bruins, a first round match up that has tested the Stanley Cup champions to the limit, much like last year, the storyline is that the B's are on the verge of elimination to a lower seed, one loss away from an off season with no option for a repeat Stanley Cup parade.

The good news for fans of the B's is that very thing however, they've been here before and as last year revealed, this seems to be a team that thrives on the drama of a Game 7, of a series where they have their backs to the wall.

All bad news for the Washington Capitals, a team that no one expected would even win a game in the opening round and may very well regret not being able to close out the Bruins in game six at home.

The Caps left their fans at the party hall, denying the faithful a chance to dance in the aisles and now they move on to a game seven showdown with the Bruins at the always intimidating TD Gardens, add on to that their star player, Alex Ovechkin is starting to express his very visible disappointment at his allotted playing time and well, such are the things of playoff implosions.

There were times in this series where you had the feeling that the Caps had the Bruins on the ropes, that the flaws of the Bruins game had finally been revealed, but with that game six loss the entire focus of the series changes, a one game showdown to move forward, the Caps will have to dig deep and all be on the same page for that to happen.

The momentum  shift has moved with the series to Boston, the Bruins have been there before, you have to like their chances to be moving on to round two after tonight's first round showdown.

It's up to the Capitals to find the resolve to rewrite that prospective history.

Game Seven-- Capitals 2 at Bruins 1(OT)
