Game Six -- Florida at New Jersey-- April 24, 2012

There will be no rats on the ice (well, plastic ones anyways) in Newark on Tuesday night, the Devils fans apparently having left Florida after as legend now has it trying to sabotage the Panther's goal celebrations will no doubt be on their best behaviour, (well, they won't throw rats (plastic or live) anyways) at the Prudential Centre for Game Six.

The Devils will be anxious to square up the series at 3 game a piece in front of their home crowd, a back against the wall situation that will require a strong effort to deny the Panthers their chance to advance in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Florida, unaccustomed to post season play of late, appear to be relishing their opportunities in this first round, the sudden return to the media cycle in South Florida bringing back some fans and spurring on sales of plastic rodents, though apparently, none will be for sale at the rink anymore, should there be a game 7 and beyond.

The Devils who are now the sole tenant in the Prudential Centre (the Nets are off to Brooklyn with a less than fond farewell from the Gov) and no doubt the folks in Jersey are hoping they can extend their use of the rink for a few more weeks, maybe even into June.

Win and they survive to play another game, lose and well, the Prudential Centre is going to be a very lonely place this spring..
